K0GEO | SO HP ALL | What a fun WW RTTY 'test! I rigged up an antenna that had not been on the air in over a year, and it worked perfectly, to my delight. Thanks to all who gave me QSO's. See you next time and 73 |
K0TC | SO HP ALL | Great conditions. Great activity. Great fun. In other words, it was great! |

K0WA | SA HP ALL | I did not have a lot of time this weekend sad to say. Tis contest was very fun and rewarding. Hope to see you all in the next RTTY contest |
K1LZ | SA HP ALL | I've never enjoyed watching the live score as much as in this contest. In fact, I believe there were times when I got distracted because it was genuinely a show worth seeing! I must extend my gratitude to my friend Sergei UT5UDX (P3X), whom I specifically asked to post his score online, despite the fact that each of us was competing for different goals. Milen LZ5DB would operate LZ5R and I would operate from here. We were set to be three great friends, commonly working together in Multi-Op contests, but now competing from three different continents: Asia, Europe, and North America. The outcome? P3X claiming a new World Record, LZ5R (LZ5DB) claming the European Record, and K1LZ claiming the North American record. Congratulations to both of them for their respective achievements. I am entirely convinced that we wouldn't have been as motivated and focused on enhancing our results if it weren't for the live scoreboard. It certainly helped us all to stay in the game. For those who are still hesitant, come on! Get involved! I enjoyed this contest and the station that once again showcased its beauty, at least during Saturday with a stable K index and spectacular propagation. However, Sunday was not even remotely similar when the geomagnetic storm hit us and the K index shot up to 6, which significantly impacts operations here, causing me to switch to a more S&P strategy and chase multipliers with the third radio. I hope the activity does not continue to decline, especially now that we have so many bands with propagation to populate. A special thanks again to Krassy for letting me operate and play with the station, and to Milen LZ5DB for all the hours of conversation, advice, and setups in the week leading up to the contest. Also I want to mention who I consider one of the legends of our hobby, Bud AA3B. he keep me also extremely motivated to keep up and follow his footsteps. What he does on the first hours it's truly amazing. That my final score is higher than his I consider simply a matter of the station and/or location but his way of operating, regardless of the mode, is truly an inspiration to me and I believe to anyone who knows how to recognize reality. Thank you Bud for always setting the bar so high and pushing us to grow and surpass ourselves. See you next! 73 de Manu LU9ESD/AC1NU Setup: Radio 1 - Yaesu FTdx101MP + Acom 2000A Radio 2 - Icom 7800 + Acom 2000A Radio 3 - Elecraft K4D + Acom 2000A |

K3CCR | SA HP ALL | K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. In the 9/23 CQ WW RTTY test, I (N3UM) operated SOHP Assisted. W5MPB was away, so we could not do M-2 as we did in 2021. I hoped to beat the 529 Qs and 238 mults I got in 9/21. I did that, with 732 Qs and 442 total mults, vs M-2 totals of 713 Qs & 367 mults. SFI of 170 vs 95 helped. Using Avail Mults & Qs 00-0107Z I got 41 Qs on 20 M, then 61 Qs on 40 M 0114-0247Z. On 80 M at 0257Z 3 sigs, 3 Qs in 3 min, & 7 mults. After 12 more 40-M Qs I quit at 0323Z to return early. On 20 M 1126-1226Z I got 34 Qs, 17 EU ctys + YB, & 5 Zns. Hot on 15 M 1233-1523 I got 109 Qs at 38.5/hr & 59 ctys, most EU, & quit to eat. Back 1809-1912Z I got 30 EU 20-M Qs, but only 3 ctys. On 15 M 1917-1939Z I got 9 Qs, 6 Zns, and 8 ctys on 5 continents. At 1946Z, 1 20-M Q, then a bad computer crash 35 min. to reboot & restore. From 2021-2105Z, 26 20-M Qs & 6 mults, then a 2nd crash! Not near as bad as the first, ~like a restart. With 2 radios & computers, I had changed chairs to QSY. No more turn off 1 radio, and use its crashy computer only for Telnet and backup storage it did FB till QRT. Back on 40 M 2334-0008Z I beamed West and ran 24 Qs, 13 St/Pv. Then 0014- 0133Z, 41 more 40-M Qs, 10 Sts, & 9 ctys in EU, SA, & NA. West on 20 M 0147-0245 I got 27 Qs & 11 St/Pv, + HI, AK, A4, & ZS. In 25 min. on 40 M I got 16 Qs & 8 mults two tries on 80 m got a pitiful 7 Qs & 9 mults in 12 min. by 0343Z QRT. Back at 1234Z on 20 M, got 28 Qs & ll mults with JA & VK in 1 hr, then 36 15-M Qs & 12 mults in 1.1 hr. To 10 M at 1448Z. Wow 49 Qs in 1.1 hr, 5 Zns, 40 Ctys (21 in EU!), + UT, WA, & AB. VOACAP had said NO EU via F2. Broke to eat, then got 24 more 10-M Qs & 17 mults by 19Z. In hindsight, shoulda done 10 M on Sat, too! To 15 M at 19Z for 1.2 hrs got 30 Qs & 12 mults. For my last 3.5 hrs, 20 M was good. I got 39 EU Qs & 5 ctys, 2020-2121Z. At 2140Z I beamed West and ran, 40/hr for 43 Qs. Got 10 St/Pv, then none for 20 min. So I clicked in the Band Map for 43 Qs & 6 St/Pv, 2253 to 2351Z QRT |
