JH8KYU/1 | SA LP ALL | As soon as I arrived at the radio room and turned on the new radio, it made a popping sound and turned off. After the contest started, I quickly made an interface for an old radio, but lost 2 hours. As a result, the score was almost the same as last year |

K0OO | M2 | LET US DO IT AGAIN |
K2ADA | MSH | First RTTY operation for K2ADA, KN4RIC and KM4ZQE. The 991a, SPE amp and the JK Mid-Tri-40 worked perfectly |
K3CCR | M2 | K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and W3GB operated Multi-2 HP in 9/19 CQ WW RTTY. For years we did RTTY only in NAQP, to support PVRC in the ????side-bet' with other contest clubs. We got 300 Qs in July ???19. We wanted to practice RTTY run techniques, and test our radio and software setups. We expected CQ WW with HP QRM to offer intense challenges it did! We made a semi- casual effort with ~normal sleep and meals, but still got 706 Qs in 28.5 hrs. BIC, made several good runs, and learned a lot. N3UM was away Fri. PM EDT. W3GB started at 0Z, but soon lost ~1 hr when N1MM froze. He got 70 Qs on 20, 40, and 80m. till QRT. From 15- 18Z Sat. we were both on, and made 67 Qs on 20 and 15m, steady but slow. Then 18-20Z on 20m, N3UM got 3 short runs of 15, 22, and 34 Qs for 71 run Qs out of 81 total. From 20-2230Z W3GB got many mults clicking spots on 20 and 15m. Then, 2248-0235Z W3GB got 91 run Qs on 80m and 111 total Qs until 0349Z QRT. N3UM clicked spots for 86 Qs on 40m till 02Z. Sun. AM we made few Qs while we fixed a subtle problem. N1MM could not key the K3S transmitter unless VOX gain was increased after decreasing LINE IN gain to adjust power. We did get 41 Qs and some mults by 17Z, clicking 20m. spots. Then at 1713Z W3GB began running EUs at 65/hr on 20m when he broke to eat, N3UM jumped in and held the freq. Together we ran for 158 Qs 1713-1933Z. W3GB came back and got a final 68 Qs and 10 mults, most on 20, some JAs. We worked 40 states, DC, and 6 VE sects. We missed ND, NE, SD, RI, VT, DE, WY, AND WV. Got 70 countries, including rare/distant 5X, 9G, C3, TR, ZL, and VP8 |
